PROFILE

Hello, my name is Donnie Long, I have recently completed Co-Directing a six episode series of shorts, soon to be announced, and released on Disney+. But my primary role at BlueSky Animation Studios is their Head of Story in Development, where I work with each of the directors on their respective feature projects to refine their theme, define their characters and help create an early structure for the movie. Once we have pitched and refined each project a number of times and are ready to write, the Director chooses the ideal writer, and we work on the first treatment, through beats on cards, to the writer’s first draft. In this role I also was a member of the Senior Creative Trust, an internal brain trust comprised of Directors, Development Executives and Heads of Story responsible for choosing original projects, and developing them from pre-production through production.
